Spool necklace

Happy New Year. I spent today making up this spool necklace that was inspired by memories of the sewing that my Mother did for us when my Sisters and I were younger. The spool is wrapped in some brown thread that my Mom gave me in a bag of goodies from her stash long ago and the charm is sterling silver and says Mother. The buttons with the thimble and the charm that says stitch are also from my Mom. The clasp is also from her and I think it is called a hook and eye, and added some pearls here and there and tied some lace on.
